My bolero is done!
Yesterday I finished my bolero from the book “Feminin strik”. I knitted it in Lerke (cotton/merino) from Dale on needles 3,5 and 2,5 mm. Knitted in size X-large and I used 5 skeins /250 grams.
I’m really pleased with it, and I think it’s going to be used a lot!
1 commentDishcloths and rovings
These days I’m knitting on a bolero for myself from the book “Femnin strik”, I’m knitting it in the yarn Lerke from Dale. A lovely yarn, and really a pleasure knitting. I guess I’ll have finished pictures of it in the next post, but until then I give you a picture of some dishcloths I’ve knitted. Dishcloth is a perfect little project in between bigger projects.

And yeah, I just HAVE to show you the pictures of my hand dyed rovings of Norwegian wool. Can’t wait to start spinning with them, and see how they turns out!!!

The pattern for socks of July came a little early because so many are going away for summer vacation right now. The pattern was a pair of baby socs, their name is Better than booties, and they are a free pattern at Knitting Daily. I think it was perfect to get a baby pattern since I have the cutest little nephew, and he is now ready for colder weather with a new pair of socks and mittens.
Rosebud was the name of the fibers that came from Spunky in June. 8 ounces of Corriedale which I spun into two threads and then made a 2-ply yarn, I think 4 mm knitting needles will be right for it, and it is something about 350 meters.
Finally, the pattern for June in Sokker 2008. Very green socks, size 37-38.

I boght a pair of rovings from http://www.squoosh.etsy.com and this one is called Schmoopy. I spun it really thin and plyed using Navajo plying. Really soft and comfy!
It’s 3-ply, 286 meters and 4 ounces.
No commentsCastle Cardi
I’m done with the Castle Cardi I knitted with my handspun yarn. It is Shetlands wool, knitting needles size 4,5 mm and the Cardi is size 6 months.
No commentsOne year older and some knitting and spinning
Since I last wrote in my blog I’m a year older. Yeah, I’m 25 now. I celebrated my birthday with family and cakes, a wonderful birthday. From mum I got beautiful flowers, and one of the cakes I served was carrot cupcakes, yummy!
Haven’t really done much lately, but I have spun 200 grams of Shetlands wool. I tried to spin it a little thicker and the final result is worsted weight and 330 meters. On Ravelry I found a pattern that was perfect to my yarn, and I started when the yarn was done. I’m knitting a little baby cardigan, Castle Cardigan, size 6 months.
It’s not finished yet, but I’ve cast on the second sleeve.
On my spinning wheel I got beautiful merino wool from http://www.squoosh.etsy.com. I bought 3,9 ounces of the color Schmoopy, and I am spinning it really thin. The plan is to make a 3-ply yarn, using Navajo plying. Fun!
No commentsI’ve been silent lately
I know I have been quite silent lately, but I have been doing some knitting, spinning and sewing. I’m dealing with a lot of things right now, so some days aren’t as good as other. But, the biggest news! I got my first nephew June 1st. His name is Sander, and is of course the cutest little baby I’ve ever seen. <3
Sander came 3 weeks early, so I had to sew the nursing pillow I had promised in a hurry. I used the same fabric as I used earlier to the same little boy.
Here he is, in a crib that my father made, and he uses the blanket I knitted for him. Aunties little cutie <3
1 commentRhubarb Merino
I bought two colors of 100 grams rovings from Spinulla. I spun one thread of each color, and plied it into a two-ply. It became a two-colored skein which reminds me of the Rhubarb. I’m very pleased with it, and I think I’m going to knit something for a baby with it.
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi)
How much? 487.8 yards (446.0 m)/200 grams
Bamboo and knitting
I’ve been spinning some more. This time in bamboo. I’ve spun 100 grams of bamboo, 2-ply, 211 meters, 21 wpi.
I have also been knitting. Knitting with handspun yarn, yeah! It is so great to knit with you own handspun yarn, gives a special feeling when you’re knitting. This time I have knitted a pair of fingerless mittens, in 100% merino on needles 2,5 mm.
